Mackay Day is an annual celebration held over a period of a week in honor of the Mackay family, early benefactors of the University. In 1949, the students, under the direction of English professor William C. Miller, presented a melodrama, The Psychoscope, as part of the Mackay Day events. Written in 1871 by R. M. Daggett and J. T. Goodman, editors of the Virginia City Territorial Enterprise, it was first performed at Piper's Opera House in Virginia City, Nevada.
The collection contains copies of the script, a copy of the program, and newspaper clippings of the 1949 performance.
Photographs of the performance are in photo collection # 457.
