"Vita, Scientia, Amiticitia"
(Life, Learning, Friendship)
Beta Sigma Phi is a national women's sorority for self-improvement and community service.

Scope and Content

The Beta Sigma Phi collection consists of six volumes of scrapbooks. The materials are from three different chapters in Lovelock, Nevada, and span the years 1939-1977. The chapters are Nu, Alpha Epsilon, and Xi Eta. The collection was donated to the Special Collections Department by Beta Sigma Phi in 1995. There are no restrictions on the use of the collection by researchers.

All scrapbooks contain guest lists, photographs, party favors, and clippings of similar events: Christmas party, fashion show, rituals, rush activities, and Founders Day celebrations. Occasionally the pages are decorated with memorabilia or painted or drawn on.
