Checking to see that the URL you create is durable and the proxy information is there

Testing for Proxy Information

  1. Does the URL start with zero dash? (0-)
  2. Does the URL contain .innopac.library.unr.edu after the domain name? (The part that ends with .com or .net)
  3. If the answer to both of these is yes, then you have a rewritten URL!  Users off-campus will be asked for their name and barcode and then given access.

Testing for durability:

  1. Look for session-specific information (sid=XXX...) This indicates the URL will expire.
  2. Try copying and pasting your URL from the address bar, closing your browser and pasting it into a new browser session.

If your link doesn't pass the test, you'll need to do something else. Ask for help.  Your librarian can assist you with this!
