Washoe County Demographics

  • ArcIMS interactive maps for Washoe County and Carson City
    • Locate on this ArcIMS interactive map the Census Block Groups approximating the perimeters of the "neighborhood" you have selected.  For Washoe county static maps are available with which you can identify a neighborhood.  Demographic data is associated with the Block Groups. HELP!

  • Social Work Abstracts Plus
    • Information about articles on social work and human services from more than 450 journals in all areas of the profession. Includes The Register of Clinical Social Workers.
  • Social Services Abstracts
    • Index and abstracts on social work, human services, and related areas, including social welfare and community development. 1980 - present.
  • Sociological Abstracts
    • Indexes the international literature of sociology and related behavioral sciences from over 1,700 journals, books and book chapters, dissertations and proceedings. Since 2001, many records include references cited.

    • The online version of Psychological Abstracts, indexing journal articles, book chapters, and dissertations from 1887 to the present.

    ICPSR Data Archive

    • Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research
      • ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction, and offers training in quantitative methods to facilitate effective data use.  Because UNR is an ICPSR member all UNR faculty and students may download and use datasets.

    When working on any research project it is important to assess critically the information resources you use to assure that your research conclusions are well supported. Simply put, can the source be trusted? And why? Is the source reliable and authoritative?
