Library Instructional Services

The UNR Libraries provide training sessions for UNR classes and regional high school groups. These sessions may be designed to provide an overview of information resources for a subject area — from traditional printed material to the latest Internet sites — or may focus on how to use a specific database.

Formal instruction broadens students' awareness of the scope of information resources available and develops their flexibility in using a variety of research tools. It enables students to do better work and earn better grades while becoming more efficient library users and more independent learners. Training sessions may be custom-designed to fit the needs of any course's research assignment.

The Libraries also provide subject oriented assistance through our University Libraries web site, and through Web pages developed specifically to support UNR instruction. If you would like to set up a class or to discuss how we might otherwise help connect your students to the information they need, please contact the Subject Specialist librarian in your field. Or contact Millie Syring: amedaille@unr.edu, (775)-682-5654.
