About the UNR Libraries

Approximately one million books and bound periodicals, as well as government documents, newspapers, videos and other media, microforms, databases, and electronic journals are available in the five libraries of the University of Nevada, Reno.

The Noble H. Getchell Library, west campus, building 59 is the main campus library, with open book stacks where readers may browse and select their own materials for use. In addition to the main library, there are several science libraries.

The Library Catalog contains records for all UNR library materials, as well as the collections of the Desert Research Institute, Great Basin College, and Western Nevada College.

    A virtual library, providing online access to geospatial data. GIS & visualization software is available for use in the DataWorks Analysis & Visualization Lab. Remote online access is available for ArcMap, ArcView, ArcInfo, and ENVI (UNR users only).
  • Physical Sciences Library
    The Physical Sciences Library at UNR has been being merged into the DeLaMare Library located in the Mackay Mines Building (#057). Please contact the DeLaMare Library for assistance at 784-6495.
  • Savitt Medical Library
    Located in the Pennington Medical Education Building, School of Medicine
