Off-campus Access:
Using Old Bookmarks or Favorites

Old bookmarks that do not contain embedded proxy information will not work with current methods for off-campus access. All of our links to licensed resources were modified in Fall 2004, so that the Library proxy server will prompt you to authenticate if you are off-campus.

If you are no longer using the "browser proxy" method, but have an old bookmark to a favorite resource, you can either delete the bookmark and reset it, or modify it so that it will work.

How to modify an old bookmark to work with the new off-campus authentication methods:

Old bookmark example:
http://www.acm.org/dl/

Modified bookmark example:
http://0-www.acm.org.innopac.library.unr.edu/dl/
Add: 0- ("zero hyphen") after http://
Add: .innopac.library.unr.edu after .org (or .com or .gov or .mil), before the first forward slash
